ABOUT
Celebrating 30 Years of Dutch Hip-Hop, R&B, and Culture :
In 2025, TMF celebrates its 30-year anniversary, and with it comes the revival of The Pitch, the show that defined Dutch Hip-Hop, R&B, and culture.
Originally hosted by Glaze and Rene Phillips (2Brothers on The 4th Floor), it was the first national platform on TV for Hip-Hop in the Netherlands, introducing legends Biggie, Wu-Tang Clan, Missy Elliott, Tupac, The Fugees, Big L and many more to Dutch audiences. But it wasn’t just about international stars—The Pitch gave local talent like Postmen, Brainpower, Def Rhymz (RIP), Extince, U-Niq, and others their first national platform. As well as “Yukkie B & Clockwise, winners of the very first TMF Award for Best National Rap Act with their mega hit ‘Wat Nou?!?.'”
This relaunch is more than just nostalgia—it’s a new era of opportunities for artists, fans, and brands alike.
Where It All Began :
The Pitch revolutionized Dutch television in 1995. It was more than a TV show—it was a movement that brought Hip-Hop and R&B into the mainstream, making cultural and generational waves that are still felt today.
Over 250 episodes, the show introduced international Hip-Hop and R&B icons along with Sylvana’s Soul, to the Dutch audience while giving Dutch talent their first national stage.
